Trainer Operations
TerraPower Seeks an Industrial Trainer to educate employees in manufacturing, equipment operation, safety procedures, and general skills used in R&D laboratory environment. This position will deliver training materials, conduct orientations, evaluate performance to training curriculum, and ensure compliance with safety regulations to improve efficiency and the safety of our work environments. Key skills include technical expertise, communication and influencing skills are key components of daily role responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver training programs to employees and contractors.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and support continues improvement.
- Identify training needs by observing workers and conducting skill assessments.
- Work with leadership to ensure training programs align with company goals and objectives.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry developments and applicable certifications (Forklift, crane, etc.).
- Manage administrative tasks related to training programs, including scheduling, budgeting and tracking.
- Resolve issues independently related to training programs, including troubleshooting procedural and software application challenges.
- Assist in the maintenance of training program related standard operating documents.
- Conduct training needs analysis collaboratively with line management and provide recommendations to address identified training gaps.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training content, courses, curriculum, quizzes, qualifications, and surveys, with minimal oversight, based on training needs analyses in partnership with technical management and staff.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by integrating all applicable regulatory requirements into the overall training program and monitoring adherence.
- Maintain and oversee training records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory standards, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Manage and optimize the training learning management system and database, enhancing usability and functionality for all stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of training content and curricula with Quality and Environmental Health and Safety program standards to safeguard employees and the public from radiological, chemical, and physical hazards related to facility operations.
- Generate detailed reports and metrics to provide actionable insights into training program performance, sharing results with the technical team and leadership.
- Guide personnel in applying a systematic approach to training, serving as a resource for best practices and innovative training methodologies.
- Collaborate with the Training Program Coordinator to evaluate and implement program changes that better meet the evolving needs of technical staff.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Lab Operations.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Individuals should have 5+ years of training experience to include course instruction, training material development, and/or training program assessment/evaluation.
- Proficient planning and execution skills for meeting regulatory and operational requirements.
- Excellent skills in the systematic approach to training and training management.
- Possess demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor in interacting and collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Able to operate and multi-task in a challenging/dynamic environment while demonstrating planning, coordination, and organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little oversight or supervision.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, verbal, and written skills that are clear, concise, and accurate.
- Excellent attention to detail in writing and reviewing of documents, such as procedures and training material.
- Experience developing, delivering and managing training programs
- The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, able to communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
- Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.

Job details
Salary Range 8: $87,686 - $131,529
* We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individuals qualifications experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
