MCFR Supplier Project Engineer
TerraPower is seeking a Supplier Project Engineer to support the Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) Program and the Molten Chloride Reactor Experiment (MCRE), as needed. This position reports to the MCFR Project Management Discipline Manager. The role centers on the procurement coordination, project management, and delivery of key equipment and systems, beginning with the MCRE Mockup and evolving towards the MCRE Reactor. You'll collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Legal, Procurement, Quality, and Finance organizations in a high-performing, multi-disciplinary environment to deliver MCRE equipment on time and on budget. This role is hybrid with on-site three days per week. The ability to be physically present at our Bellevue, WA headquarters and Everett, WA lab is a requirement. Join the MCFR Program and help advance a first-of-a-kind reactor towards commercial deployment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage supplier performance through application of project management practices overseeing cost, schedule, contract scope, submittal/deliverable, and resources.
• Facilitate supplier selection activities with the Contract Administrator to lead requests for proposals (RFPs) through Bid, Evaluation and Award (BEA) by examining and comparing bids to select the best offer to acquire goods, works, and services necessary to achieve the goals of an organization
• Collaborate with internal technical and commercial teams to ensure fidelity to contract and technical direction with supplier.
• Develop statements of work (SOW) and project planning to execute supplier projects to meet program objectives.
• Coordinate technical review process of supplier deliverables and ensure appropriate responses.
• Manage interfaces between suppliers and MCFR technical team.
• Provide support to contract administration and commercial activities as needed to implement projects.
• Manage submittals between supplier and MCFR Team.
• Maintain awareness of supplier technical capabilities, organization changes and relationships to ensure positive feedback to MCFR.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience for level 10, or 10 years of relevant experience for level 11. Experience level may be partially substituted for advanced degree depending on position relevance
• Preference for experience in procurement of electrical and instrumentation or vessels and piping in a production environment.
• Demonstrated skills in the technical direction of suppliers and in supporting contractual/commercial aspects of customer/supplier relationships.
• Previous experience in technical interface with engineering groups for review and input to supplier activities, including earned value management
• Experience defining supplier scope, including development of statements of work and requests for proposal.
• PMP or CAPM certificate is preferred.
• Experience in managing cost and schedule in Safety Related manufacturing and construction preferred
• Experience in qualification of components or Commercial Grade Dedication preferred
• Must have experience with project controls and organization along with tools and processes to support the same.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail desired

Salary Range Level 10: $117,922 - $176,883
Salary Range Level 11: $138,6857 - $208,027
*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary bands. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
