General Plant Instructor
The General Plant Instructor reports directly to the Maintenance & Technical Training Manager and supports the development, delivery, and maintenance of plant-wide training programs for the Natrium Demonstration Project (NDP).
This role serves as a cross-functional instructional resource, delivering general plant training (e.g., site access, orientation, industrial safety, and plant fundamentals), serving as a qualified NANTeL proctor, and supporting accredited training programs under the direction of qualified program owners. The position is designed to provide instructional flexibility and surge capacity during construction, commissioning, and early operations.
Responsibilities
• Develops, maintains, and delivers plant-wide training programs and materials, ensuring alignment with company policies, applicable regulatory requirements, and approved training standards.
• Applies the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), commensurate with program scope, to support both accredited and non-accredited training activities.
• Develops and delivers general plant training, including site access, orientation, industrial safety, and plant fundamentals.
• Serves as a qualified NANTeL proctor, administering online training and examinations in accordance with NANTeL and site requirements.
• Supports accredited training programs by delivering approved training content, administering examinations, supporting OJT documentation, and updating training materials under the direction of qualified lead instructors or program owners.
• Coordinates with Operations, Maintenance, Security, RP, EHS, QA, and Engineering to ensure training content reflects current plant configuration, procedures, and organizational expectations.
• Revises training materials to maintain instructional and technical accuracy based on plant design changes, procedure revisions, regulatory updates, and operating experience.
• Prepares and administers written exams, performance evaluations, and practical demonstrations, as appropriate to assigned training activities.
• Supports training effectiveness evaluations, continuous improvement activities, and corrective actions associated with assigned training programs.
• Incorporates applicable INPO operating experience, NRC communications, and internal assessments into training materials and delivery, as appropriate.
• Participates in NRC inspections, INPO activities, and audits in a supporting training capacity, as assigned.
• Ensures the collection, maintenance, and retention of auditable training records in accordance with site and regulatory requirements.
• Assists Training Management with planning, scheduling, and prioritization of training activities, particularly during construction, commissioning, and early operations.
Key Qualifications and Skills
• Minimum of two (2) years of commercial nuclear power plant experience or equivalent experience in a regulated, high-hazard environment.
o Military nuclear experience of four (4) years or more may be considered.
o A combination of relevant experience and academic credentials may be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training and to support accredited programs under the direction of qualified program owners.
• Experience or qualification as a NANTeL proctor, or ability to obtain qualification within a defined period.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• High level of attention to detail, flexibility, and commitment to training quality.
• Demonstrated trust, integrity, and professionalism, with the ability to communicate openly and work effectively across organizations.
• Understanding of how training execution and individual actions impact regulatory compliance, public confidence, and nuclear safety culture.
• Ability to adapt to evolving plant conditions, changing procedures, schedule impacts, and the challenges associated with a first-of-a-kind nuclear project.

Salary Range Level 10: $ 99,054 - $148,582
Salary Range Level 11: $ 116,495 - $174,743
*We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual's qualifications experience. This range is specific to Wyoming.
