About The Position
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a strategic partner to segment leaders at the Callaway Nuclear Energy Center. The HRBP will influence segment business initiatives and workforce strategies and objectives. Through close relationships with Business HR colleagues and HR Centers of Excellence, the HRBP will monitor segment workforce initiatives focusing their attention on the alignment with Ameren's overall strategy and direction. The HRBP is responsible for aligning an organization's people strategy with its business strategy. Knowledgeable about business processes, they interact mostly with high-level executives and collaborate with the HR department to ensure that HR functions and initiatives are reflecting business objectives and needs.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop strong partnerships with Callaway Leadership and the broader HR team to effectuate a comprehensive people plan that identifies workforce challenges and solutions enabling the achievement of segment strategic business goals and ensuring alignment between business and HR objectives.
  • Build leadership capability across the segments by engaging leaders and partnering with HR Centers of Excellence and talent process owners to drive viable talent processes to include workforce planning, talent development, succession planning and performance management
  • Assist in creating and managing workforce plans providing continuity and expertise to sustain processes promoting workforce strategy outcomes. Leverage the People Health Committee to provide guidance and oversight to implementation and progress of nuclear workforce strategies and talent processes.
  • Function as a coach and trusted business adviser to influence business leaders in areas of organizational design, leadership development, co-worker engagement and performance management-affirming their understanding of the impact of short and long-term workforce decisions.
  • Working closely with leadership and the broader HR team, leverage workforce data to align critical workforce needs and segment strategic priorities and goals focusing on achieving and maintaining best in industry class results.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and effective integration of HR pursuits that shape the culture and drive change and leader behavior.
  • In collaboration with Callaway leadership and Leadership and Organization Effectiveness consultant, help drive leadership development in alignment with industry best practice guidance (i.e. 15-005, 19-003, 23-002). Ensure a strong integration with culture shaping initiatives to help evolve a leader's mindset, change behavior and drive culture in the plant.
  • Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Callaway Energy Center Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) including responding to assigned ERO facilities within the required RERP response time.


  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, with a specialization in Business, Human Resource, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organization Development, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Master's Degree with a specialization in Human Resources or MBA preferred.
  • PHR preferred.
  • 5 or more years of relevant professional level experience (e.g., leadership development, talent management, high impact organizational effectiveness consulting experience) required.

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills required coupled with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively and build credibility/rapport with co-workers at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to exercise sound business judgment and collaborative approach to work required.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • The HRBP works a hybrid schedule flexing time between a home and office environment.
  • Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
